Alexander Babuta is a Research Analyst in the National Security and Resilience department at RUSI, specialising in policing and organised crime. His research focuses on the relationship between technology and security, particularly big data, Artificial Intelligence and machine learning. He publishes regularly on these topics and his work in this area has been cited in the House of Commons, House of Lords and European Parliament. He holds an MSc with Distinction in Crime Science from University College London (UCL), where his dissertation explored the use of data science methods for risk assessment of missing children. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics from UCL. Prior to joining the institute, Alexander worked for a Member of Parliament.
